The Tao according to James Brown

Static. Don't start none, won't be none. At least that's what I think he says. I've been on a gathering spree of James Brown observations. James Brown narrates a song, with very little actual singing. And he's bossy too. Watch me now. Horns play. Gimme bass.
My favorite, "Good God, I wanna kiss myself say *smooch* *smooch*" where the smooches are actual kissing noises. Or what about, "Mama, come here quick, bring me that lickin'stick." To what stick does he refer? He asks for it vehemently 6 times in a row, I'd love to help him out- what stick, what stick?!!!
This video is priceless. Watch the whole thing, it's worth it. I think JB is on his way to a raquetball match after this clip was shot.

Actually, when one delves deeper into the phenominon that is James Brown, one ought ask how on earth did this guy keep a career for so long?! Let me highlight the oft-substanceless amalgam of grunts and exaltations which compose a fairly typical "song"-
Baby give it up or turn it a loose
Uh ha baby gives it up or turn it a loose
Starting over again
Baby, give it up or turn it a loose
Oh ha baby, give it up or turn it loose
Oooooh all right Baby, give it up, oh turn it a loose oh
Oh o o all night long, uh
All right, hey, hey, hey, hey
(repeat ad infinitim)
I know I'll be discussing much more JB in posts to come, but for now, I'll leave you with these pearls.
My name James Brown is gyown! uh! too fun-kay!too fun-kay in he'e!
Discuss.

I have seen James Brown perform (Macworld Boston, some time in the 90's) and he was awesome.
